Exciting News!!

Hello!! I just wanted to share some super exciting news with you all today 💖👏😁

I've been chosen to work as a Page Kit Designer with the amazing online scrapbook store Scrap Shotz!! I'm so excited to work with the owner, Sandy, and such a wonderful and talented bunch of ladies. You can see all the details on the new team as well as the returning team members at the Scrap Shotz Snap Shotz blog.

The fun thing about this team is that the lady who owns the business is really just a few minutes down the road from me - how cool is that! It's so neat to be able to meet crafty online friends in person :)

You can check out the online Scrap Shotz store here - they are in Canada, but ship Internationally, which is awesome! The prices are fantastic, with lots of deals - and if you are shopping from the US, your dollar is so much better than ours that you're getting an even better deal!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and for being so amazing and supportive, my crafty friends!

FCCB #307 - At The Beach!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #307-At the Beach
Make a project about anything beachy!

This Weeks Sponsor

Dreaming Tree SVG's

The winner will receive a $20 Gift Certificate!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook layout from a day we spent at the beach a couple years ago using the Cricut cartridges Pack Your Bag (beach ball), Summer Love (beach sign) and Dude! (Just Chillin title).

I used the new August sketch from the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Sketchy Challenge and a CTMH circle cutter to cut my photos to fit. I even used some of the leftover photo of the sand to punch circles in. The typed sticker is from a Tim Holtz sticker book. I just love the sayings in it!

The background and title is cut from a watercolour paper pad I just picked up from Michaels. I love that it easily cuts with the Cricut and has a slight variation in the colours to add interest to the diecuts.

The awesome new Seashell Sequin Mixes from SpiegelMom Scraps were perfect to add to this beachy page! (And if you use the code KARLA15 you'll save 15% at the SMS Store 😉)

I even used some sequins to decorate the beach umbrella after shading the edges of the cuts with Distress Inks.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to head over to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see what all the other Design Team members have come up with, and enter your own project for a chance to win a prize from our awesome sponsor Dreaming Tree SVG!

Inspiration Saturday!

Hello friends! We've had a busy week this week; we went to the local amusement park, to the wading pool, lots of park time, to see the Emoji Movie - which was a hit! and had a water balloon fight in the backyard. And, Amie, who's 10 has been baking up a storm! She made chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, which were really good, on Wednesday, and has made scrambled eggs and regular, blueberry and almond flour pancakes Friday morning as well as a grilled cheese sandwich for herself for lunch. Her dad bought her a mini griddle and she already has tons of recipes pinned to try!

Here are some crafty inspiration sites, videos and freebies for you to check out!

1) I've really been enjoying finding some awesome home decor inspiration lately, and I was so impressed when I came across Bless'er House. You'll find some amazing 'drool-worthy' home decorating pics and tips on the Blog and Instagram feed! I'm warning you though, it's addictive!

2) Crafty Bit Creations has a great video tutorial showing four different Distress Oxide Ink backgrounds with the cutest mermaid stamps! I am loving playing with my first set of DOX inks, and I'm working on the second set!

3) Craftin Dessert Divas have their August New Release event going on right now, and depending on the number of attendees, Tara puts the occasional FREEBIE digi stamp up in the CDD Store! Every month they have a New Release Event, so it's worth following along to see all the awesome inspiration and pick up a couple free digi stamps! And who knows, you may even find a new stamp set you can't live without 😉

4) Dreaming Tree SVG has the most adorable Fairyville SVG Bundle out, and it's free with a $9.98 purchase. Details are in the link!

5)And, lastly, Dawn Nicole Designs has a beautiful August tech calendar for you to download FREE for your computer, phone or ipad! If you sign up for her Happy Mail you'll always be notified everytime she has a new one available.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Kitty Bee Designs - #100 Challenge Celebration!

Hello! I hope you've been having a wonderful week! It's been really hot here, and I'm not going to complain at all because our summer is so short! So we've actually been inside a lot during the hottest parts of the day. Thursday, the girls and I went to our local scrapbook store for a card make 'n take, which was fun, and I got to visit with a couple of my besties- also fun! And then we did some shopping ;) After supper we had family movie night and watched ET. My two younger girls had never watched it and I hadn't seen it in a long time. They loved it!

So, today I'm popping in to share a cute Kitty Bee Designs card using the Happy Birthday digital stamp to celebrate the 100th Challenge Celebration Post for the Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge Blog!! They are celebrating 4 years of challenges - so amazing!

I printed this cutie out on kraft cardstock and coloured her in with Jane Davenport Magic Wand coloured pencils. Then, I used a square Kaisercraft stitched die to cut her out. I am absolutely loving these stitched dies!!

I added a couple cute paw prints with my new Antique Linen Distress Oxide (I'm going to love this ink!) and a birthday sentiment from a Your Next Stamp set.

I layered some Kaisercraft Wildflower paper (love!) on a kraft base along with a scalloped Spellbinders Nestabilities diecut and used some SpiegelMom Scraps string and sequins along with a pretty 28 Lilac Lane button. A touch of Glossy Accents and Stickles finishes it off, and now she's ready to help somebody special celebrate their birthday!

In honor of our 100th challenge celebration, we’d like to invite you, our amazing fans and friends, to join in for a special round of amazing giveaways!! There’s a ton of ways to win one of NINE different sponsored prizes... NINE of them!!!

It made me realize how important it is to step out of our comfort zone and try new things once in a while.

Kitty Bee Designs - Cute As A Button Kitty!

Hi there! I'm back today to share a card with you using the super sweet Kitty Bee Designs Sewing Kit digital stamp that I'm featuring on the Kitty Bee Designs blog. I had so much fun making this card. Sewing always reminds me of my Nanny - who taught me to sew - and brings back many happy memories. So, of course I was so excited to create a cute card using this little sewing kitty!

I printed the image out on white cardstock, coloured it in with Prismacolor and Hobby Colour Markers, and used this awesome Cool Tag Four Die Set from Your Next Stamp to create a tag base. I love the stitching detail on this tag! I just had to grab a 'cute as a button' stamp from Pretty Cute Stamps as a sentiment on the front.

The bright colours in the BoBunny Believe 6x6 paper pad (one of my fav's) was perfect as a background for my card! I popped up the tag to give some dimension and added half pearls from 28 Lilac Lane and SpiegelMom Scraps sequins.

Inside I used a Thank You sentiment from Your Next Stamp and the Sew Much from Pretty Cute Stamps and layered a coordinating piece of patterned paper along the bottom. I just recently picked up some 110 lb white cardstock for cardbases - and can I tell you how much I love it!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I've had a lot going on this week - so if you haven't had a chance to check out all the fun things I've been sharing, be sure to check out all the posts this week so far! From Christmas to Canada Day - it's been a lot of crafty goodness ;)

Scrap 'N Stamp Christmas In July Blog Hop!

Hello friends!! I'm back today with a fun blog hop as a Guest Designer with my friends at Scrap 'N Stamp! There has always been something exciting for me to celebrate Christmas In July. I love making Christmas cards, but always seem to wait till the last minute when things are so hectic I just can't enjoy them as much as I'd like. Well, this is the year I start early and have fun with it!

If you've arrived here from Tara at the Scrap 'N Stamp blog, you're in the right place as she's at the start of the hop. We have all used the fabulous Dee's Distinctively Stocking Die from In The Making for this fun blog hop! It will be amazing to see all the awesome ways each designer uses this die! It's a really gorgeous die - and cuts beautifully. I couldn't help but make two projects!!

***And the best part -you can get this die FREE by spending $50 at the Scrap 'N Stamp store! (Canadian shopping only) Sorry my international friends - but you do get to see some amazing Christmas inspiration!!

For my first project I created a Christmas card by diecutting this beautiful stocking out of Green Glitter Paper. This paper is amazing! It's a thin weight glitter paper, that is nice and sturdy, but easily diecuts. I added an extra shim of paper in my Cuttlebug to make sure everything cut out and it turned out wonderfully. I wanted to go for a vintage-y vibe and grabbed some softer Christmas papers from my stash. By cutting out several stockings I was able to use the negative images to create an inlaid diecut effect.

I used the Red Glitter Paper to create a border strip and added a bow created with my We R Memory Keepers 123 punch and then added some SpiegelMom Scraps sequins. I used a Tim Holtz brick embossing folder and embossed some Co-ordinations cardstock and then grabbed some Tim Holtz Picket Fence, Pewter and Tarnished Brass Stains to randomly cover the brick. I spritzed the whole background with some Perfect Pearls mist to blend a bit.

Inside, I used a Retro Merry Christmas stamp by In The Making. It's a cling stamp that stamps beautifully! I added another strip of that pretty Green Glitter Paper and a few more sequins.

I love this Noel Stamp set from In The Making as well - each letter is individually cut out, so you can place them however you want without any masking. I stamped with Versamark ink on black cardstock and used Gold embossing powder. Then, I fussy cut each letter out and placed them vertically.

I had so much fun making the card that I decided to use the Red Glitter Paper to make a tag too! I created a background on a manilla tag by first embossing the Noel Stamp set with an iridescent embossing powder. Then, I used Tim Holtz Antiqued Bronze Spray Stain, Dylusions White Linen Ink Spray and Heidi Swapp silver Color Shine mist to spray the background and used some spritzes of Perfect Pearls mist to blend it all together. The embossed letters resisted the mist and I love how some of the mist seeped into the areas that didn't completely emboss! I lightly wiped the tag with a paper towel in spots, and I love the texture that created! I sprayed some seam binding ribbon with coordinating colours and crinkled it up to dry before attaching it to the tag.

I added a few stamped images from a set of Tim Holtz background stamps around the background and added a few more SpiegelMom Scraps sequins before popping up my stocking. I love how vintage this tag turned out!

Here's the blog hop line-up:
